If you are you looking to host a large business networking event, staff do or public event with up to 300 guests, there are a few places in the Tauranga region that can accommodate you. Freestyle Events has experience transforming many of these local venues into spectacular themed event locations.

PMG 30th Anniversary

2022 | TAURANGA RACECOURSE | BLACK TIE EVENT

A luscious black-tie affair, held to celebrate 30 years of PMG with shareholders and staff. The racecourse event venue held their 240 guests comfortably. The venue was decorated throughout in a simple, elegant manner, with natural flora elements incorporated. A red-carpet entranceway, stage and dining area were all decorated in theme to add to the ambience.

Eastpac Staff Christmas Parties

Eastpac has returned to Freestyle Events to help create Christmas magic for their staff for 3 years in a row, and counting. With a 340 guest list, these have been big gigs to decorate!

2020 | ASB ARENA | ISLAND HOLIDAY THEME

The first Christmas theme was island dream - we had been in lock down so no surprises everyone was dreaming of an overseas break!  They were so happy with what we achieved that they have come back 4 more times since for different events. Now they just says here is the brief, go make it happen!

2022 | EAGLE RIDGE | CHRISTMAS THEME

The 2021 Christmas event was postponed to the 20th of January 2022 due to Covid, so we needed to make it a Kiwi  Summer Christmas to bring back those festive feels! The Pohutukawa centrepieces worked a treat with the natural, rustic aesthetic of Eagle Ridge.

2022 | CLASSIC FLYERS | 1940'S AIR FORCE THEME

This was the third year running that we were asked to decorate the venue for Eastpac’s Staff Christmas Party. A simple, clean and crisp aesthetic for the tables allowed the character of the venue to shine. This was one of four large corporate gigs we did at Classic Flyers between October and December ‘22.

ADONZ 70th Anniversary

2022 | TRINITY WHARF | 1950’S THEMED CELEBRATION

We travelled back to the 1950's for this milestone celebration - the decade that the Association of Dispensing Opticians New Zealand was born! This called for a retro photo booth, vinyl records for placemats, a working jukebox and all the 50s glitz and glam!

Awards Night

2022 | TRINITY WHARF | BLUE LIGHT AWARDS

A classic awards evening for 150 guests, simple with a touch of elegance. Blue up-lights around the room and a mixture of lights in the table centrepieces gave the atmosphere that winning touch.

Delwyn’s 50th Birthday

2021 | TRINITY WHARF | DISNEY THEME

Delwyn had a themed 50th surprise birthday which had been cancelled 3 times due to Covid. The brief was to use gold and Cadbury purple, each table will represent Disney movie and the birthday girl loves Mickey Mouse – no Minnie – just Mickey! The Disney figurines were provided, which we turned into table centres depicting each Disney movie. We used gold satin table cloths, purple satin napkins, and made the balloon garland shaped like Mickey Mouse ears.  The fifty was made from silk flowers crafted by my own fair hand!

Event Sponsorship

We sponsor up to 3 chosen charity events per year. This is decided on a case by case basis and is a contribution to the overall hire costs. It provides us great joy to be able to contribute to great causes in our community - check out some of our previous sponsored events below! 

2022 | UKRAINE FUNDRAISER

A more intimate affair held at Waters Edge, this fundraiser was simple and elegant with the bright yellow and blue of Ukraine’s flag used to theme the decor and table settings. As well as being a great cause to get behind, it was a nice way to say thanks to Water’s Edge for all their support over the years.

2022 | YOUTH LIVES MATTER

An elegant ‘casino night’ masquerade at Classic Flyers was held to raise funds for youth counsellors to be made available in Mount Maunganui Intermediate. This was their first year of fundraising, so we made the choice to give full sponsorship. The evening was a huge success for YLM, and the on-flow of work with Classic Flyers from this has been phenomenal for us, so certainly a win for all!

2023 | TGA PAEDIATRIC WARD & LITTLE HEROES PROJECT

Held at Classic Flyers, this 20s themed event was a big cause for our little people! This actually started out as a paid gig, but Shona got Covid and was stuck under ‘house arrest’, so she pulled all her gear together and called in the troops! Moira (the guardian angel) jumped on board to do the decorating and pull it all together, so instead of charging Shona decided to make this her third sponsorship event. Awesome to have such a positive outcome for an unfortunate situation!
